Easter felt like the perfect time to introduce LegitYup.com to the world!
My relationship with Jesus and God, as a born-again Christian, started decades ago courtesy of parents who understood the value of true faith. Like most, my imperfections cause me to stumble, but I know that Jesus is always there to help me get back on my feet. He is my lighthouse. My wish to explore faith-based works of art is done in effort to honour Him. And while I will fail at times, by His grace, those failures won’t define me.
As I grew older, my personal relationship with God shifted; I started to feel like our organized religions often forgot that Jesus and his followers were living life as humans. It is my sincere belief that a big part of the human experience is our ability to laugh with each other, and at our imperfect selves. Jesus and his Disciples faced many hardships, but they must have shared many moments of joy. These days, we can definitely use more joy.
While maintaining the utmost respect for Christ, The Father, and the lessons given to us, LegitYup hopes to be a reminder that levity has spiritual value.
The bright, colourful comics aim to explore the everyday moments surrounding familiar Biblical stories, with a bit of humour. Series 01 launches with 6, multipanel comic strips from recognizable moments; The Birth, Loaves and Fishes, The Temple, Walk on Water, The Blind Man, and The Cross.
